General Notification

Dear Students,
in light of the global Covid-19 pandemic and the subsequent preventive measures, the BME Faculty of Architecture accepted our department’s proposal for a modified class structure for its first and second-year drawing courses, as the nature of these courses necessitate attendance learning the most. Contrary to the regular weekly timetable, these courses will be taught according to an intensive block schedule. This arrangement will, however, affect not only the schedule of the first and second-years, but also senior students of other year groups, as well as students of the General Course. For this reason, all students shall read the following provisions very carefully. Relevant information will be made available both within the ‘Moodle’ system and on our department’s website, respectively. Detailed schedule and course description will also be available in ‘Moodle’.

Drawing 1
(BMEEPRAA101) coures timetable

Drawing classes for first-year students in the Fall Semester of 2020/21 will be restructured to block schedule. This way we can ensure the possibility of personal attendance required by observational drawing by its nature, and we can provide direct assistance and communication for the entire curriculum, which are absolutely necessary for laying the foundation of freshmen students’ drawings skills.

Consequently, classes for first-year students will be held in the following order:

  • First week of the semester (September 7-11, 2020)

Drawing 1 classes are cancelled. However, all other first-year courses will be taught according to normal schedule.

  • Second week of the semester (September 14-18, 2020)

Classes are cacelled.

  • Third week of the semester (September 21-25, 2020)

First-year students have drawing classes, every day of week (Monday to Friday). Classes of all other courses are cancelled for that week. The entire program of the semester will be merged down and concentrated to this special ‘Drawing Week’. Due to the extraordinary circumstances and the special arrangement, personal attendance – in compliance with all safety and health provisions – is very strongly recommended for all students. Also, as a safety measure, English program students will be divided into two groups. Group schedule will be disclosed during the second week. Classes for English students during ‘Drawing Week’ will be held in department’s gallery lounge.

Time schedule of ‘Drawing Week’:

Group EN1:                                        September 21, 2020        Monday               8.15 am - 2.00 pm

                                                               September 22, 2020        Tuesday              2.15 pm - 8.00 pm

                                                               September 23, 2020        Wednesday       2.15 pm - 8.00 pm

                                                               September 24, 2020        Thursday             8.15 am - 2.00 pm

                                                               September 25, 2020       Friday                   2.15 pm - 8.00 pm

  • Forth week of the semester and onwards (from September 28, 2020)

No drawing classes with personal attendance, evaluation will be based on the works prepared during the above classes.

Additional information:

Final marks are determined by the board of teachers based on the overall quality of the semester works. Exercises are designed so that they can be completed during attended class-time.

Students missing the above classes can only finish the course online, within the ‘Moodle’ system. Accordingly, all teaching material and project descriptions and assignments will be uploaded to the platform. Online completion of the course requires individual work, however, weekly offline consultations and assistance will be offered. Works finished at home shall be uploaded in digital form according to schedule and until the designated deadlines.

Please note that this arrangement has been introduced for your benefit, with the specific intention to avoid distant education. Therefore, as long as personal attendance is not formally suspended, do everything in your power to participate at the classes.

Drawing 3
(BMEEPRAA301) coures timetable

Dear second-year Students,
the virus situation has been changing rapidly and drastically. In the past few days, certain members of the staff of the Department of Graphics, Form and Design have shown suspicious symptoms, and the possibility of a Coronavirus infection may only be ruled out by upcoming test results. Under these uncertain circumstances, the planned first week block-schedule teaching of Drawing 3 with personal attendance (Drawing Week), as well as all originally scheduled drawing classes for the first week, have been collectively cancelled.

The Department of Graphics, Form and Design will switch over to distant education from the second week of the semester. You will be able to attend your course through online instructions and consultations, according to the original week-by-week schedule. The updated schedule, program and all further information will continuously become available on the course's Moodle page, and you will regularly receive updates through Neptun as well.

In hope of a successful completion of the course, you are kindly asked to follow the updates, project descriptions and deadlines on Moodle, on a regular basis, participate in the MS Teams online consultations (at the scheduled time of the class) , and keep an active virtual communication with your instructors. Shall you encounter any obstacle or difficulty, make sure you inform them instantly.
In duly justified cases you can also contact the course director directly.
Thank you for your understanding and we wish all our students to stay safe and well during these challenging times.
